Sweat in style

gym

Once you’ve convinced yourself it’s a good idea to get up an hour earlier than norm and head to the gym, it’s a great and invigorating start to the day. (We’re sure it makes you more productive as well)

We’re therefore delighted to hear one of our fav work wear brands, Whistles, is to launch a sports-inspired collection with London based fitness studio FRAME. FRAME is on our doorstep and boy, does it make you sweat!

The collection is aimed at the modern, energetic woman and offers ‘studio to street’ appeal. FRAME offers some great crèche facilities so mums keep your eyes peeled for the collection, which launches this summer.

Right, we’re off to the gym…

Google Makes a Play for your Classroom

Google children in classroom

Google is set to make a big entrance into UK schools with ‘Google Play for Education’.

With Microsoft and Apple already vying for lucrative classroom space this new service will allow schools to choose affordable tablets including the Nexus 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education, in addition to set-up and management tools for access to Google Play for Education.

Android with Google Play for Education offers schools access to hardware and apps designed for the classroom which are customised to the UK curriculum.

It is expected to be cheaper than Apple and easier to set-up than Microsoft – the current dominant player.

Another advantage that Google has above Apple and Microsoft is its search, which is dominant in most markets.

It’s a Takeover

Instagram

Instagram is one of our favourite destinations for liking, sharing and commenting on pictures and, used cleverly, it’s a great resource for brands to grow their audiences and promote themselves.

Growing in popularity is ‘Instagram Takeovers’ when users and brands invite other instagrammers to take over their feeds for a day or even a week!

This week Red Magazine has teamed up with Babyccino Kids to host an Instagram Takeover. It’s a great way to refresh and liven up their feed and hopefully capture some of Babyccino’s loyal and engaged followers.

Who would you invite for an ‘Instagram Takeover’? We’d love to see Jamie Dornan gracing our feed!

YouTube KIDS is here!

YouTube-Kids-thumbnail

You Tube Kids is a new app with screened and approved content for kids.

What makes it so brilliant is parents can be reassured their kids are watching their favourite programmes ad free and without any swearing or blood and guts.

For example my kids love Stampy chatting about Minecraft over CBBC and beg me to watch it. That is fine, but I literally have my heart in mouth when I see blood and swearing as they have jumped over to another clip with a different presenter.

Initially, it will be aimed at a younger audience with Sesame Street and Thomas The Tank Engine. There is even a timer on it.

A channel like this with such a captive and eager audience who love watching programmes on iPads and phones is sure to grow. Parents can breath a sigh of relief in the knowledge that they won’t be watching any ‘dirty’ Peppa Pigs!

Be Blown Away by Bubble 2015

We’re a kids PR agency and so naturally our ears are starting to prick up because it’s nearly Bubble London time. We’ll be heading to Islington Design Centre to check out new children’s fashion brands, collections, trends and say ‘Hi’ to exhibiting clients.

Our resolution – Introduce children to new languages!

Pacca iPad

We are very excited at Saibr towers to be preparing to a new app, which introduces children to new languages from the people behind the BBC’s Lingo Show.

Saibr PR is very experienced in launching children’s apps to parents and children, in particular educational apps. The fabulous new app called Pacca Alpaca helps pre schoolers learn French, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic or English!

Did you know that many mums and dads are keen to expose their young children to new languages from an early age and a growing number of parents are enrolling their babies, toddlers and preschoolers in foreign-language classes. The numbers are expected to rise.

There are lots of studies, which show that speaking a second language boosts cognitive, memory, and listening skills.

Research published in Psychological Science suggests that simply thinking in a foreign language helps people make quicker and better life decisions!

Studies show that there is a direct correlation between foreign language study and high SAT scores. People who speak a foreign language often enjoy better career prospects and higher standards of living.

And there are even health benefits — recent research from the University of Chicago suggests that a second language also helps prevent dementia later in life!

Good enough reasons to make language learning on all our resolution lists

Bonne année!
Happy New Year!
