Why Board Games won’t be Boring us this Christmas

Carcassonne-board

Working for a PR agency which specialises in Kids PR and Family brands it is inevitable that, come Christmas, we are clued up on the perfect gifts for babies, toddlers, tweens and teenagers.

This year we’re intrigued by the new wave of board games, which promise to lure, die hard video gamers away from the screen and onto the kitchen table! Led by titles such as Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne, they allow you to play at building medieval settlements, re-enact pivotal battles from the second world war, tackle political debating and manage the spread of disease, AND they’re selling in huge numbers.

So maybe this year it’s time to relegate Monopoly and Cluedo to the bottom of the games cupboard and reach for the new generation of board games instead….

Scandi Warmers for this Winter

JOHA_Wool_Silk_2957

We are currently working on some great lifestyle PR projects for family brands. Online retailer, MamaOwl, who specialises in organic, natural, woollens for kids, wants to encourage mums to dress their kids in wool layers, just like the Scandinavians. We could learn a tip or two from our Scandi cousins such as:

1. It’s all about base layers so invest in some warm wool vests. An inner layer of pure wool helps to regulate your child’s temperature keeping them warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot

2. 100% merino organic wool and silk is great for kids with sensitive skin and mums worried about toxins.

3. Merino wool is good if you have skin allergies.  Each fibre has a silky outer layer, creating an extremely soft, fine texture. Superfine merino fabric is comfortable to wear without itch, and safe to use for babies with eczema, allergies and sensitive skin. It forms a natural micro-climate around your baby’s body, keeping them at an ideal temperature so skin conditions aren’t aggravated. It’s also lightweight and odour resistant.
